Tracking the Work of Your Team Members Effortlessly

Ever wonder who is doing the most work at your firm? There is a quick and easy way to find out, namely, with the Staff Management Report in SmartAdvocate

The Staff Management Report in SmartAdvocate [Reports—Management Report—Staff Management Report] shows the number of documents created, emails created and responded to, and notes and intra-office chats created by each team member within a specified date range. You can access the Staff Management Report weekly or as frequently as you wish, and there’s a good chance you’ll be shocked by the results.

With the Staff Management Report, you can see who is actively working on cases, including tasks completed, tasks assigned, and overdue tasks. You might find that your star paralegal is doing three times the work of everyone else, and your foreign remote workers are doing almost nothing. This report helps identify workflow balance across attorneys, paralegals, and secretaries and can be used for performance reviews.

You can automate the process so the reports are emailed to you every day or once a week, and it can provide graphs and charts showing the work of each team member. The data is generated automatically in SmartAdvocate.

Using the Data to Motivate Your Team Members

Don’t hide the data from your team.  Show the data to your team on a weekly basis, and your “A” players will compete to distance themselves even more from the rest of your team. This can become a game, where you share the results with your team and recognize the excellence of your most productive team members.

Then, take the next step. Have the data posted every week on a centralized monitor (aka, Scoreboard) for your team members to see, so it’s impossible to hide from the results. You might assign “Rocks” or specific weekly goals for team members based upon the Staff Management Report.
